Who is Dr. Z. Suat Özden
Dr. Ozden was born in İstanbul in 1965. He gratuated from the University of Istanbul Medical school in 1990, he then moved to U.S.A. for further medcal training. He did his internal medicine residency and general gastroenterology fellowship at the Albert Einstein Medical Center , Philadelphia, PA, he then did additional fellowships in therapeutic endoscopy, E.R.C.P. and endoscopic ultrasonography at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA and Hepatology and Transplantation Hepatology at the University of Miami Hospitals, Miami, FL. Dr. Ozden is American Board of Internal Medicine certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology and transplant hepatology. He returned to his home country in the year 2000, established and managed gastroenterology departments in different private hospitals. Dr. Ozden has performed and helped in developing many new endoscopic procedures simultaneously with the american and european endoscopists. He pioneered the first endoscopic gastroesophageal reflux treatment in Turkey, he used stents to open gastrointestinal narrowings, by using the technique called mucosectomy he treated succesfully many patients with early esophagus, stomach and colon cancers and polyps.
He introduced the concept and techniques of theraupetic endoscopy for treating gastrointestinal bleeding and has been performing E.R.C.P. and Endoscopic Ultrasonography for various biliary and pancreatic diseases. Being a hepatologist Dr. Ozden also treats many patients with chronic liver disease, he works with national and international liver transplant centers to select and manage those patients who are in need of liver transplantation. Dr. Ozden is also a founding member of ABCD (American Board Certified Doctors) in Turkey, main aim of which is to help physicians and patients who live and work both abroad and in Turkey.
